SOUND ANALYSIS

From this clip we can hear noises from the plane flying and gunshots from the person in the plane shooting at king kong. This is diegetic sound as it is coming from the world of the film we are watching. Diegetic sound is also used when the characters in the film are discussing what it was that caused king kong to fall. The volume of the music gets louder when a part of the scene gets more intense. Non- diegetic sound is used when the background music was added to the scene to cause tension and suspense.

The use of parallel sound is added in this film clip as we are hearing fast paced suspenseful music which matches the scene. This is because in the scene there is a sense of suspense as we are waiting to find out whether king kong will fall from the tower or stay up. However, contrapuntal sound is also used when we see king kong pick up the woman from the tower. In this part we would expect daunting suspenseful music as it is a scene with tension but there is calm music put in this scene which makes it contrapuntal. Sound bridge is used when the music goes from showing king kong falling to the woman who is still on the tower.
