The Lurking Crow by Leila

  • cinematography/camerawork: composition, framing, BCU, CU, MS, LS, pan, tilt, tracking shot, zoom

- Her camera placement was good and precise making it clear to watch.

  • mise-en-scéne: clothing, props, gestures, facial expressions, sets, setting (CLAMPS)
- This had the best Mise-en scene because it was in a natural comfortable setting so it had a comfortable feel to it. The actors were realistic and acted really good. 

  • lighting: key light, back light, filler light; underlighting, top lighting, back lighting; low-key/high-key lighting

- There was a lot of natural light used for the video from the house lights as well as natural lighting from the house.

  • sound: diegetic/non-diegetic; on/off screen, sound bridge; parallel/contrapuntal sound, voiceover narration

- This had the best sound design. When the girl was talking on the phone you could clearly hear the person on the other side. There was no background noise interrupting the audio.


  • editing: continuity editing, jump cut, dissolve, wipe, fade in/out, cross-cutting, paralleling, cutaways, montage, suturing (shot/reverse shot)
- There was a scene were when the character looked up and the screen turned black. Shot reverse shot was used as well.

- The camera used was really clear so we could see everything clearly. The camera work was steady a lot of the time. Wide shot was used  a lot as well as some close ups.


  • mise-en-scéne: clothing, props, gestures, facial expressions, sets, setting (CLAMPS)

- It was a casual setting mostly at home. The facial expressions that were used were realistic making it it appealing to the audience since the actors were acting properly.


  • lighting: key light, back light, filler light; underlighting, top lighting, back lighting; low-key/high-key lighting

- Top lighting was used a lot as well as some lighting from the corners. Natural lighting from outside was used a lot from the sun.


  • sound: diegetic/non-diegetic; on/off screen, sound bridge; parallel/contrapuntal sound, voiceover narration

- The sound was really clear letting us hear it properly, there was diegetic sound used.  A lot of parallel sound was used especially when her friend was missing making it suspenseful for the audience.


  • editing: continuity editing, jump cut, dissolve, wipe, fade in/out, cross-cutting, paralleling, cutaways, montage, suturing (shot/reverse shot)

- Continuity editing was used a lot throughout the video. There weren't any cross cuts or montages. shot reverse short was used as well.

  1) This picture uses filler light. 2) This picture has top lighting as we can only see the woman’s face from the top left. The rest of the picture is dark meaning the light is only coming from above. 3) The effect of these lightings is to put our focus onto the woman’s facial features and make us feel wonder what is down below. 1) This picture uses key light as we are able to see everything clearly as there is bright lighting. 2) The picture uses top lighting as the light comes from above  and the features of the character is accentuated.
